Fred Crowell holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from the University of Idaho. He coached basketball and taught physical education at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and for four years, he was the basketball coach of Athletes in Action, an international traveling basketball team. Crowell founded Northwest Counseling Services in Spokane, Washington in 1971. With a medical model combining psychological and spiritual principles, over 1500 families received counseling in a five-year period. Over 5000 people participated in the Institute for Family Living conferences he co-directed. The 12-course conference was designed to equip parents with the necessary skills to have a successful marriage and provide an environment for training successful children. Over the past 30 years Fred Crowell has authored educational and motivational books, cassette tapes and DVD’s, as well as spoken to over a million people throughout North America. He has been actively involved in community and corporate culture-building activities. Crowell has chaired the Spokane Mayor’s Prayer and Leadership Breakfast, and been a featured speaker and executive leadership consultant for corporations and organizations in a wide array of fields. Currently, Fred Crowell is the Founder and President of NBC Camps Inc., an organization 35 years strong that is considered the world leader in training people young and old to live lives of success and meaning. He has two children and three granddaughters. He and his wife Susie have been married for over 40 years and call Spokane home.
